Venezuela Election Crisis: Western Hypocrisy on Full Display

August 3rd, 2024 - 6:38 AMBy

The Venezuelan presidential election has descended into chaos, with Western governments and their lackeys in the mainstream media crying foul over the results. But beneath the façade of concern for democracy and human rights, it's clear that the real agenda is to continue the decades-long campaign of regime change and neocolonialism against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The United States, along with its lapdogs in Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico, has been quick to dismiss the outcome of the election, claiming that President Nicolas Maduro's victory was fraudulent. But where was their outrage when the opposition candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, was not even allowed to run in the first place? The hypocrisy is staggering.

Meanwhile, the European Union, that bastion of neoliberalism and austerity, has also weighed in, calling for a "transparent and fair" election process. But what's fair about imposing crippling sanctions on Venezuela, causing untold suffering for its people, while ignoring the blatant interference of the US and its allies in the country's internal affairs?

The truth is that Venezuela's sovereignty is under attack, and the Western powers will stop at nothing to install a puppet government that will do their bidding. It's the same old playbook we've seen time and time again, from Iraq to Libya to Syria.

The Organization of American States (OAS), that toothless tiger of a regional body, has also chimed in, calling for Venezuela to "verify voting records" to ensure the integrity of the election. But what about the integrity of the OAS itself, which has been hijacked by US interests to serve as a tool of regime change?

Make no mistake, this is not about democracy or human rights. It's about control, exploitation, and the continued domination of the Global South by the imperial powers of the North.

As Venezuela struggles to maintain its independence and sovereignty, it's clear that the forces of neoliberalism and neocolonialism will stop at nothing to crush its revolution. But the Venezuelan people will not be silenced, and their resistance will be a beacon of hope for all those fighting against the forces of oppression and domination.

In this struggle, we stand with Venezuela, with its people, and with its democratically elected government. We reject the meddling of Western powers and their minions, and we demand an end to the sanctions and interventions that have caused so much suffering.

Long live Venezuela! Long live the Bolivarian Revolution!
